Local Data (Stored on Your Device)

Tropic stores all your content locally on your device:

Audio recordings you create
Transcriptions of your recordings
Video clips you import (referenced from your Camera Roll)
Tags and metadata you create
Generated videos

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export or share it.

Data Processed by Third-Party Services

To provide AI-powered features, we send certain data to third-party services:

Audio transcription: Your audio recordings are sent to Google's Gemini API for transcription. Audio is processed and not stored permanently by Google.
Video analysis: Video clips are sent to Google's Gemini API for AI tagging (Tropic+ subscribers only). Videos are processed and not stored permanently by Google.

Analytics Data

We use Mixpanel to collect anonymous usage analytics to improve the app:

App opens and feature usage
Subscription status
Error reports

We do not collect personally identifiable information through analytics.

Subscription Data

If you subscribe to Tropic+, your subscription is managed by Apple and RevenueCat. We receive:

Anonymous subscription status
Purchase transaction identifiers

We do not have access to your payment information.

To provide app functionality (transcription, video generation, AI tagging)
To process and manage your subscription
To improve our app through anonymous analytics

Data Storage and Security

Your content is stored locally on your device using iOS's secure storage mechanisms. We do not operate servers that store your personal content. Third-party services (Google, RevenueCat, Mixpanel) process data according to their respective privacy policies.

Access: All your data is stored on your device and accessible to you.
Deletion: Delete the app to remove all local data. Contact us to request deletion of any analytics data.
Portability: Export your generated videos at any time.

Children's Privacy

Tropic is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
